Depart for Ayutthaya by air-conditioned coach, is 71 kms north of
Bangkok drive along paddy fields, orchards, Thai house about hour,
visit Pang-Pa-In palace or summer palace was buite
in 1629 by King Plasat Thong of Ayuthaya period. Afterwards go to
famous temple.
Wat Mahathat was
construction in 1374 but was completed during 1388-1395 A.D. .the
main prang (Khmer-style tower) contained a holy of the Lord Buddha.Where
used to house of Buddha image made of green stone.
Wat Na Phra Mane
was the place used for signing a peace accord between King of Burma
and King of Ayutthaya ,In 1760 Alongphaya,a Burmese King,had invaded
his canons in this temple to fire shells on the royal palace,the chapel
of temple is houses a Buddha image in seated posture in royal drees
depicting the Lord Buddha as a prince before he gained enlightenment.
Wat Lokayasutharam
is a huge reclining Buddha image,It was constructed of bricks and
cement in the art style of Early Ayutthaya Period.It is 42 meters
long and 8 meters high. |
